Mysterious Magnetic Hill of Ladakh
Magnetic Hills are located in the Ladakh region of Indian State of Jammu & Kashmir at a height of 14,000 feet above sea level. The hill is alleged to have magnetic properties strong enough to pull cars uphill and force passing helicopters and aircrafts to fly at a greater speed to avoid the magnetic impact of the Magnetic hill.
Many claim that this happens because the hill possesses magnetic power while some claim it is nothing but optical illusion.
A hilly area like Magnetic hills where a completely or majorly obstructed horizon it becomes difficult to judge the slope of a surface. Thus a very slight downhill slope appears to be an uphill slope. The slope of hill is an optical illusion. Though there are many scientific reasoning to this phenomenon, the mystery is yet left unanswered.
